Galactic Outreach vs lemlist
By Joan Gumban · Last updated
lemlist is an outreach platform for email, LinkedIn, SMS and calls, with its own database of named contacts and built-in warm-up, on a monthly, quarterly or yearly subscription. Galactic Outreach is cold email software for reaching businesses by industry and city: it finds them on the public web, writes to each one, and sends through your own email provider or one mailbox, with safety checks and country rules applied before anything leaves, and credits bought once.
How are they different?
| Galactic Outreach | lemlist | |
|---|---|---|
| Where leads come from | Businesses' own websites and public business listings, searched by industry and city when you ask | Its own database (650M+ leads on its pricing page), with an email finder and verifier, paid for in credits |
| Named contact and job title | Rarely: a business's own site seldom names a person | Yes: its database and email finder look up people, not only companies |
| How email is sent | Your own Resend, Amazon SES, Mailgun or SendGrid account, or one Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace mailbox | Google or Microsoft mailboxes, or another mailbox over IMAP and SMTP; its help centre lists SendGrid, Mailgun, Amazon SES and Postmark as not compatible |
| Other channels | Email only | LinkedIn, SMS and a call dialer on the Multichannel plan |
| Warm-up | None; a daily cap and a week-by-week table instead | lemwarm, included in every plan |
| Daily volume per mailbox | At most 50 a day from a connected mailbox | Recommends starting at 10 to 15 a day and capping campaigns at 25 to 30, with warm-up and campaigns together at or under 50 |
| Checks before sending | 29 checks over the written batch; a blocking one holds the whole send | A filter for leads with a missing variable, which its help centre advises reviewing before launch |
| Unsubscribe link | On every email, always | Added by hand: chosen from the editor's “+ Add” menu |
| Postal address on every email | Added automatically; a send without one is held | Its help centre advises one in the footer |
| Countries that require opt-in | Every lead in Germany, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands and Singapore is held | Not in lemlist's docs |
| Free to start | A free allowance at signup, no card needed | A 14-day trial with no card; its free plan cannot send campaigns |
| How you pay | Packs bought once; credits never expire | Subscription from $69 a month ($55 billed yearly); lead credits are a separate add-on from $20 a month, kept while it stays active and expiring on your anniversary date once it is cancelled |
When is lemlist the better choice?
When you want LinkedIn, SMS and calls in the same sequence as your emails. When you need a named decision-maker and their job title before you write. When you send from several Google or Microsoft mailboxes and want them warmed up for you. Galactic Outreach does none of those: it sends email only, and rarely finds a person's name.
When is Galactic Outreach the better choice?
When your customers are local or small businesses you can describe by industry and city, and the address a business publishes itself is the right one to write to. When you already send through Amazon SES, Mailgun, SendGrid or Resend, which lemlist cannot connect. When you want a batch held, not just flagged, while it contains an address on your do-not-contact list, misses a postal address or reaches a country that requires opt-in. And when you would rather buy credits once than keep a subscription running.
