Getting started
Quickstart
From a new account to a first sent batch, in the order the screens appear.
Connect a provider
Sending needs a provider, so this comes first. Open Settings → Email provider, choose Resend or Amazon SES, and paste the API key. The From address must be on a domain that provider has verified.
Use a subdomain for outreach — hello@mail.yourdomain.com rather than hello@yourdomain.com. Cold email is the fastest way to damage a sending reputation, and a subdomain keeps that damage away from the domain your invoices and password resets go out on.
- Verify the domain in your provider's dashboard before you paste the key here.
- SPF and DKIM must both pass, and DMARC must exist, or Gmail will file you as spam whatever the copy says.
- Add the webhook too — bounces and complaints only reach Galactic if you do.
Collect a list
Find new leads takes a city and a business type and collects what is publicly listed. One search costs one credit per city, and the count is shown before it runs.
What comes back is a queue, not a list to send to. Every scrape brings in things that should not be emailed — placeholder addresses, directories, the wrong city with the same name, department inboxes. Read the queue in All leads before you go further.
Write the message
Templates holds the message. Fields like the company name and city are filled per recipient when the batch renders, so what you write once arrives as many.
Write for the person receiving it. If the list is local businesses, the words that matter are the ones about their business — not the stack yours is built on.
Check it, then send
Safety checks reads the rendered batch and returns SEND or HOLD. A HOLD blocks the send — not as a warning you can click past, but as a refusal from the code that does the sending.
When it says SEND, Review & send has the button. Start small: twenty a day is not caution, it is how a new sending domain earns the right to send more.
