Templates
Write once, send to many: per-lead fields, a plain-text part, and the footer the law requires.
Fields
A template is the message with the per-recipient parts left as fields. They are filled when the batch renders, which is why Review & send shows you real messages to real addresses rather than a preview with placeholders in it.
What is added for you
Three things are attached to every message whatever the template says. None of them is optional, and none is yours to remove.
- HTML and plain text
- Every message goes out as both, because a text-only client showing an empty body is a message that was never read.
- Example: multipart/alternative: text/html + text/plain
- A working unsubscribe
- A link in the footer and a List-Unsubscribe header, so the mailbox provider can offer it beside your name.
- Example: List-Unsubscribe: <https://app.example.com/api/unsubscribe?…>
- Your postal address
- Taken from Settings and appended to every send. A commercial email without one is unlawful in most places you are sending to.

Testing two subject lines
A template can carry a second subject line. When it does, each address gets one of the two by a stable hash of the address — the same person always sees the same one — and which they got is recorded, so Emails sent can compare them.
